On the celebrated bridge, Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, are four bronze statues, two flanking each end of the bridge. They are the Winged Victories, each symbolising a national value.
(The Winged Victories represent the goddess Vittoria/Nike)
The Winged Victory in my drawing was sculpted by Italian artist Elmo Palazzi, and represents The Defence of Right. She holds a sword raised high, and a shield in the other hand. This statue stands on the end of the bridge closer to the Vatican, with the sword deliberately pointing towards the Vatican, as a political statement by the new and secular Kingdom of Italy of then, demonstrating its resolve to protect state rights against the power of the Papacy.
Choose either a paper print or a canvas print. The price of a canvas print does not including shipping. Shipping cost for a canvas print will have to be calculated separately. The canvas print is stretched over a wooden frame, which will influence shipping weight. Before buying, email me first, to enquire about the shipping cost for a canvas print.
